Exterior & Design
Just like the outgoing model, this one features some minor design enhancements. However, to dive a little deeper into the special edition model, it will be featured in two shades, including Frozen Deep Green metallic and Sanremo Green metallic. The latter will come on the standard models as well, and that has been confirmed by BMW.
To improve the overall driving dynamics of the Z4, the carmaker has retuned the chassis and has come up with M light alloy wheels for both front and rear. Other than this, the carmaker has extensively used gloss black shade and M-typical design elements across the ends to make it more imposing.
Interior & Features
The dashboard of the Z4 Pure Impulse Edition is a typical BMW affair. However, just to differentiate it from the regular model, the carmaker has come up with an exclusive Vernasca leather trim with black M piping. Also, to keep the practicality intact, the special edition Z4 comes with a multi-function steering wheel, a fully digital driver’s cockpit, a touchscreen infotainment system, two-zone climate control, smartphone connectivity and a rotary dial at the centre console.
BMW is also offering several optional accessories on the roadster. That includes features such as a 12-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system and multiple driver assistance systems such as front collision warning, lane departure warning, rear collision prevention, park assist and speed limit info, to name a few. Other than this, two more additional features that are available are the BMW Head-Up Display and Cruise Control.
Engine, Transmission and Performance
As of now, the Z4 Pure Impulse Edition is based on the M40i variant that uses a 3.0-litre in-line, six-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 340 horsepower and 500Nm of peak torque. The only difference here is that will come paired with a six-speed manual gearbox to give the driver full control when it comes to gear shifting. The result is the special edition Z4 can clock a triple digit speed in just 4.6 seconds. On the contrary, the top speed of the same stands at 250kmph.
Other details
All thanks to BMW, the carmaker has confirmed that it will be coming up with the updated design on the other variants soon. To be precise, the models that will receive design changes are the standard Z4 M40i, Z4 sDrive30i and Z4 sDrive20i. Sadly, the chances of it arriving in India are less as BMW has said that this new special edition is limited to European and the US markets.
