Paying Rs.17.25 Lakhs in the last few decades would have bought customers a high-end sports bike or maybe two, but right now, there’s a massive shift in demand from the customer’s point of view when it comes to segment. Tourers, cafe racers and street bikes you name it, are now contending neck to neck to be the market king. Recently, Ducati launched the all-new Ducati Streetfighter V2, its high-end street bike in India. The motive is to capture the entire segment. Will it happen? Well, we are here to find that out.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Ducati Streetfighter V2 finally arrives in India.
  • Receives a powerful 955cc Superquadro engine.
  • The price of this bike starts at Rs.17.25 Lakhs.

Ducati Streetfighter V2

Based on a die-cast monocoque platform and without fairing, the new Streetfighter V2 weighs around 178kgs. With this, the weight-to-power ratio stands very optimal. Ducati has also confirmed that the brand has also revised the chassis so that the weight remains under control.

Ducati also tried not to do any sort of cost-cutting and that’s the only reason why the naked streetfighter now comes with a 43mm Showa BPF front fork which is adjustable for both rebound and dampening. Interestingly, the bike manufacturer is giving the owners more leverage with the suspension setup and because of that, it can be adjusted for compression and preload as well. The rear setup also gets adjusted in a similar manner.

Now coming to tyres, Ducati Streetfighter V2 receives Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV on either end. To be a little more precise, the front one is a 120/70-17 meanwhile at the back it gets a 180/60-17 unit. Stopping the powerful bikes are dual 320mm discs (front) and 245mm discs (rear).

Just like the Panigale V2, the naked superbike comes packed with electronics such as cornering ABS, traction control, engine brake control (EBC) and wheelie control manufactured by Ducati itself. To control the power delivery at all times, the Italian brand is also offering three ride modes namely Sport, Road and Wet as standard.

Powering the naked street bike is a renowned 955cc twin-cylinder Superquadro engine. For this particular model, it has been tuned to produce a massive 153 horsepower and 101.43 Nm of peak torque with transmission duties ready to get handled by a 6-speed gearbox. Ducati has also confirmed that they will be offering a quick-shifter that makes this setup a complete success.

Alternatives

In India, Ducati Streetfighter V2 is going to go head-on against some well-known rivals including BMW F 900 R, Triumph Street Twin and Kawasaki Z900 to name a few.
