Things are going to get better and car enthusiasts will be able to go out on their new rides very soon. Are we claiming that? Ofcourse not. Well, there is a lot of hope behind the idea of releasing the entire launch schedule of the upcoming Kushaq by Zac Hollis, Skoda India Head. The Czech brand has decided to launch Kushaq by June 2021 with bookings starting just after it. Also, the carmaker has confirmed that the upcoming SUV will reach their respective dealerships by July 2021.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Skoda India Head has recently confirmed the entire launch schedule of the upcoming Kushaq.
  • It will be available with either a 1.0-litre turbo or a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine.
  • Multiple features such as a sunroof, wireless charging pad & fog lamps will be a part of the list.

Skoda Kushaq

Exterior & Interior

To begin with, the design of the all-new Kushaq remains intact to the carmaker’s ideology. Surprisingly, Skoda has successfully extracted the Vision IN concept in the real world. The front portion of the SUV gets the signature grille, sleek LED headlight setup, fog lamps and wide air intake just below the number plate housing. Coming to the side profile, there are roof rails, body cladding, large wheel arches and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels on the range-topping variant. Accordingly, other variants will be available with either 16-inch alloy wheels or similarly sized steel wheels.

At the back, Skoda Kushaq gets a roof-mounted spoiler, faux diffuser and LED taillamps that enhances the overall look. Interestingly, multiple colour schemes such as – Candy White, Honey Orange, Brilliant Silver and Tornado Red will be available across all variants.

Inside the cabin, the Czech carmaker tends to follow the minimalistic approach. In other words, the multi-layered dashboard gets a neat finishing. In terms of features, the upcoming SUV will get an analogue instrument cluster, multiple USB C ports, ambient lighting, wireless charging pad, multi-functional steering wheel, sunroof, ventilated front seats and a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system among others.

Powertrains

Open the bonnet hood, and customers will get the option between 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol or a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine to choose from. To be precise, the first one produces a decent 115HP and 175Nm of peak torque. But, the latter one is more nimble and churns out a massive 150HP alongside 250Nm of torque. For starters, both engines are available with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the 1.0-litre motor comes with a 6-speed AT while the 1.5-litre engine gets a 7-speed DSG transmission as optional.

Safety Features

Skoda is a trusted carmaker in terms of safety. Therefore, we assume that the upcoming Kushaq will be a safer place to be in. Just to name a few, the carmaker will offer multiple airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist and ESC as standard with the SUV.
