The changes when compared to the regular model are subtle but they are crucial ones. To begin with, Nexon EV Prime has made its debut with features such as Automatic Brake Lamp Activation on Regen, Cruise Control, Indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (iTPMS), smartphone integrated connectivity feature and charging timeout in case you leave it for more than 110 seconds after it is fully charged.

Just like the older model, Nexon EV Prime is available with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery and a single permanent-magnet AC motor. The overall output from this setup is rated at 129PS with an ARAI-certified range of 312kms. Another crucial part of this electric setup is that Tata Motors has claimed that the entire setup is world-class. To be a little more precise, the battery pack is said to be IP67 rated.

The most important part about these new features is that the carmaker is ready to roll a similar update on the existing Nexons via the OTA update. As per Tata Motors, it will enhance the real-world experience of the existing customers without paying even a single penny, from 25th July at the authorised service centres. To make this transition smooth, the company has also announced to come up with a proper explanatory session.

For now, Nexon EV Prime is expected to roll out in three different shades, including Signature Teal Blue, Glacier White and the recently arrived Daytona Grey.

While addressing the media, Mr Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, “The Nexon EV has captured the imagination of the entire nation and has consistently led the way in the electric vehicle segment since its launch. It is the default choice for EV intenders with a market share of over 65%. With the Nexon EV Prime we expect to further strengthen our strategy of keeping our product offerings New Forever. Further with this software update to current owners we are setting new benchmark of what customers can expect as part of Tata EV ownership experience.”
