Toyota discontinued its flagship vehicle the Toyota Land Cruiser as well as the relatively cheaper Land Cruiser Prado in India. The discontinuation was due to the rigorous emission norms.

But now, the Senior Vice President of the Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Naveen Soni confirmed the return of the brand Land Cruiser in India. He said, “We are not giving up that product and definitely in some form, shape, and size you will see that product coming back.”

The Japanese legendary SUV is known to be one of the best off-roaders in the entire world. The Land Cruiser 200 VX AT earlier was powered by a 4.5-litre diesel V8 turbocharged engine. It was mated with a 6-speed gearbox producing around 261bhp and 650Nm of torque. Based on the body on frame platform, the car feels robust. The Toyota Land Cruiser offers paddle shifters, EMV, 14 JBL speakers, USB port, aux-in, 4-zone climate control. The 7-seater thus provides you a premium feel with this luxurious cabin.

The last recorded price of the Toyota Land Cruiser was around ₹1.34 crore onwards. The automatic diesel engine returns around 11kmpl of mileage.

Toyota Land Cruiser was also spotted and caught testing which is yet another proof that the Japanese carmaker is going to relaunch the particular SUV. However, the new Toyota Land Cruiser may get a 6-cylinder engine with a redesigned grille in front.

Globally, the facelifted Toyota Land Cruiser is to be launched at the end of this year. While the launch in India is scheduled in 2021.
