The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has collaborated with an Analytics Platform ‘Tableau’ to offer training in Modern Data Analytics Skills for educators and students.

AICTE under the mentorship of Ministry of Education has aimed to offer this training in over 10,500 higher education institutes affiliated with the Council.

Under this collaboration, Tableau will provide Desktops and prep licenses which will help to access the e-learning platform and resources developed for this training program.

The AICTE will provide curriculum material for teaching analytics in classrooms, which is developed by the experts at AICTE along with professors from top universities.

The training program will consist of a series of workshops and eLearning curriculum. Over 200 trained professors as tableau Champions will guide 1-2 other educators from each college using this tools.

This educators at higher education institutes will further prepare a detailed course on data skills for students and will also train them accordingly with Tableau.

AICTE’s aim behind introducing this training program is to promote the data analytic skills among younger generation of India. The proficiency in Data analysis and data visualization skills is comparatively very low in the Country.

Dr. Chandrasekhar Buddha, The Chief Coordinating Officer at AICTE, said that the skill sets are changing constantly across the globe to accompany the modern data-driven world and data analysis skill have came into major importance.

This collaboration with Tableau will help the AICTE to equip learners and educators with valuable data skills which can be used to address the challenges of several industries, Dr. Buddha added.

The Country Manager of Tableau India, Mr. Anand Ekambaram mentioned that the year 2020 has made us recognize the importance of Data analysis and how it can be used as a strategic asset during the pandemic.

He added that “We are honored to partner with AICTE to democratize analytics and spread the awareness about data skills among every bright mind in the nation.”
