The CBSE informs the SC that it has decided to cancel the pending exams of classes 10 and 12. It has completely cancelled the 10th board exam, while the board gives options for the class 12. The class 12 exams would be conducted later and the students can appear if they wish to enhance the marks. The results for these classes would be declared on July 15.

The petition for cancellation of these exams was put forth due to coronavirus outbreak. This case was held in the Supreme Court bench led by J AM Khanwilkar. Earlier on Tuesday the board said that it would produce a decisive report soon and the case was scheduled to hear on Thursday at 2 pm.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that board has submitted a report including the suggestions from the state. He also said that, “CBSE has a scheme in which marks scored in past 3 exams will be taken into account. For Class 12, the exams will be conducted as soon as the situation is conducive. Marks for the students who opt for the class 12 examination will have that marks as final.”

The ICSE said that it would also consider a similar move like CBSE.

CBSE has stopped it exams from mid-march as the virus cases started to spread vastly. A total of 29 papers is held from conducting.

The Supreme Court has asked the CBSE to cancel all the exams as the corona virus cases are increasing day by day. The court also mentioned that it would be difficult to conduct the exams with all the safety protocol taking into account. The plea also consisted various petitions put forth by the parents and teachers. They feared that this exam would put the students into virus risk.
