On Friday, the Jamia Millia Islamia has ordered the hostellers to empty their rooms and return back to their home. This decision was taken after the Ministry of Home Affairs permitted the use of trains for ferrying people who are stuck up in different states because of the current situation of lockdown.

The university was closed because of the current scenario nationwide and for regular students the classes would reopen in the month of August, while for the new academic session classes would start from September.

The university said that in due course the examinations would be slated for July 2020. All the resource materials for exam as well as research can be accessed online by the students.

In addition to this, it also stated that the students had to remain in the hostel who could not go back to their homes have been asked to vacate the hostel as per the transportation facilities and the guidelines of the government.

There are several area in the university that have been termed as hotspots and have been sealed. It will become difficult for the university to maintain logistics and requirement of manpower.

The university said that the hostels are needed for facilities of quarantine and also for maintenance.

Therefore, we need to vacate the boys and girls hostel as soon as possible and start off with the process.
