The Mumbai University has decided to postpone semester exams for the all undergraduate and postgraduate-level students of The Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL).

The first Semester exam of the January-December 2021 sessions and second semester exam of the July 2020 session for all disciplines of UG and PG programmes has been postponed from July 30 to August 18.

The University has released an official notification regarding this announcement. The notice mentions that the IDOL exams are being postponed due to heavy rains in the jurisdiction of Mumbai University.

The Coastal areas of Maharashtra have recently experienced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms which has led to cases of landslides, electricity outage and blockage of roadways and rail lines.

Under such unfavorable conditions, students are unable to reach exam centres as per the scheduled date and time. Thus, the exams are shifted further till situations normalise or gets better.

The courses for which first semester exams, of the January-December 2021 session, have been postponed are-

  • B.A. First year
  • B.Com. First year
  • M.A.
  • M.Com.

Whereas, the courses for which second semester exams, of the July 2020 session, have been postponed are-

  • B.A. First year
  • B.Com. First year
  • B.Sc. IT First year
  • M.C.A. First year
  • M.Sc. IT
  • M.Sc. Maths

Other then this courses, the fourth and sixth semester exams of B.Sc. IT, MCA, and PGDFM along with second semester exams of PGDORM are also postponed by the Mumbai University due to same reason.

The University has notified that a revised schedule for all postponed exams will be released soon on the official website. Thus, all the students are advised to keep a regular check for any further updates.

Mumbai University may also make changes in the alloted exam centres in case the particular area is majorly affected or has any probability of heavy rains again during the exam days.
