Odisha government on Tuesday, April 16 declared the official announcement for the summer vacations of all educational institutes in the state. The vacations have been pre-pone and will start from April 18, 2019, which were earlier scheduled to be commence from May 6 this year.
The pre-scheduling of the holidays have been done due to immense heatwave in the state. According to the reports, on Monday as many as 12 places in the state recorded maximum temperatures of above 40 degree Celsius and in some places amongst Talcher city it reached to around 43.3 degree Celsius.
“All schools including the privately managed have to follow the guidelines and close schools for summer holidays from April 18 as per the government order,” said a senior officer in school and mass education department.
Last year too the summer vacations were pre-scheduled from the decided date. The schools were announced to be closed from April 14 instead of May 4, 2018.
