Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar ensures the faculty positions of educational institutions of restoring the 200 point reservation, wherein the calculation of reservations under faculty positions is done through considering university a unit instead of calculating reservation department wise because of which scope for recruitment of faculties who belong to reserved category declined. He urged people saying “no need” of protests.
“Few groups have decided to agitate. I would like to assure them that they need not agitate, the government will do justice. We will bring the 200-point reservation roster and how we will do it will be clear within two days,” Javadekar told.
Last year in March, the University Grants Commission announced the implementation of calculation of faculty reservation for teaching posts to be calculated department wise, which initially was passed by Allahabad High Court in April 2017.
In February 2019, the Supreme Court dismissed the review petition filed by HRD Ministry after SLP was rejected by the apex court.
On February 11, Prakash Javadekar said in Lok Sabha “bring an ordinance if its review petition filed in the top court is rejected”.
