A team of five students studying at SRM University’s Semester Abroad Programme with the University of California, Berkeley emerged as the winner of the Developer Week Hackathon that was held in San Francisco. The Developer Week Hackathon is one of the world’s largest challenge based hackathons.

The Challenge was won by the SRM team by developing a blockchain based game that encourages people to buy products. They developed ethereum based card trading game for shoppers. It also helps sellers to be provided with interested customers. The Agoraio’s chatting platform that was developed by the team, was liked by Agoraio developers. They won the first prize $1000 from Agoraio.

The team includes five students out of which four from computer science engineering, and one from electronic and communication engineering.

The students in the team were Koushik Bhargav Muthe, Saptarshi Mazumder, Rajarshi Mazumder, Agniswar Paul, and Souradeep Das.

Koushik Bhargav Muthe also developed another team that was amongst the five top teams and also won  ‘best blockchain utility Hack’ which had them  $500 from Near Protocol. This other team developed a contract-based system that lets corporate and social contracts to be made through the blockchain system. This requires to enter a contract and other details from the opposite party and then with the help of the blockchain system, both the parties will receive an email or SMS for accepting the contract or rejecting it. With the acceptance of the proposal, entry on a blockchain is made.

The SRM University, Andhra Pradesh offers programmes in engineering, liberal arts, management, law, medical sciences, and pure sciences.
