On Saturday, the National Law universities (NLU) Consortium decided to further postpone the Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT) 2021. The decision made is again due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and lockdown imposed by several states.

Previously, The CLAT 2021 was to be conducted on June 13. The new date for the exams has not been announced yet and will be revealed later by the authorities. The decision came out in an executive committee meeting of the consortium held on Saturday.

The Last date for registration in the Admission test has also been extended to June 15. Thus, aspiring students can now enroll themselves for the test on the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in till the extended deadline.

The officials of Consortium told that we have prioritised the health and safety of students and all stakeholders over the conduction of exams and hence we have concluded on the final decision.

In this duration, the commitee has decent time period to discuss over the upcoming situations and to plan the successful conduction of exam without any further postponement or cancellation to avoid any academic loss of students.

According to the speculations, since the consortium committee has extended the application deadline to June 15, The CLAT exam may not be conducted anywhere near the end of June or the start of July. The committee can consider new date around 15th of July. But it all depends on the prevailing situations at that time.

Although aspirants have got any extra month for preparation but further delay in exam would result in academic loss of students and increase in competition. CLAT is considered as the toughest law entrance Test in india as it grants admissions to Top Law colleges associated with the consortium.
