After the extravagant wedding between cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma in the previous year, 2018 brings a comparatively new celebrity couple who are supposedly on their way to tie the knot as well. Rumours of successful Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and equally successful businessman Anand Ahuja preparing for their supposed wedding this May had spread through the internet like wildfire until all social networking sites had accepted it to be the truth.
This rumour was backed up by the fact that some pictures were released to the social media in the past week which showed Sunita Kapoor, mother of Sonam Kapoor presiding over certain decorations and lighting over their residence in the Juhu area. Fans were immediately convinced that the decorations were in honour of the upcoming wedding between the happy couple.
However, this was until a recent occurrence in which the father of Sonam Kapoor – actor Anil Kapoor expressed his opinion in a recent interview with the Press at the voting of the Indian International Film Awards (IIFA), which he had attended. In his interview, Anil Kapoor neither confirmed nor denied any wedding rumours. Instead of that, he explained how he didn’t want the media to corner him into giving out any personal details. He promised the press and the public that the secret would be unveiled soon.
Although no further assumptions regarding the wedding can be made, as of now, it is safe to say that the public will soon be aware of why exactly the Kapoor residence was being decorated so beautifully.
