After acting in the commercially successful film Bala, Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to share the screen space with the veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming film Gulabo Sitabo. The Badhaai Ho actor recently opened up about working with Senior Bachchan during an interview with Mumbai Mirror.

While showering praises on his co-actor, Khurrana said, “He is so intelligent and full of energy even at this age… He comes so prepared that he will know even your lines.” He was also in awe of her wife Tahira Kashyap who recovered from cancer last year. “She is not just a life partner but also a life coach for me. She has inspired me since college days with her creativity and her zest for life. That worked in our favour while battling the illness,” he told the publication.

Gulabo Sitabo, which will be released in April, will mark Khurrana’s second outing of the year. Before Shoojit Sircar directorial, he will be seen in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan which will be released on 21 February. A spin off to his 2017 film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, the film deals with the subject of homosexuality.

About playing a gay protagonist in the upcoming film which is rare for mainstream Bollywood actor, Kurrana said, “The timing couldn’t be more perfect. I believe that India is ready for that character and that kind of cinema. The Supreme Court has legalised same-sex relationships and this is the right time for a love story on the LGBTQ community.”
