There was a time when Indian TV was known for producing content out of the box with their great storylines which used to be rooted very well with the reality. However, the fame of TV declined as long daily soaps replaced the content-oriented Indian series and now most of us are either hooked with Netflix or Prime, praising international shows. So today, we will be talking about one TV episodic saga produced by Star Plus in the late 90s, and every episode was known for bringing out some of the very unique stories.

And among all these episodes, one was the Anurag Kashyap’s directorial ‘Last train to Mahakali’ a short psychological thriller which tells the story of a doctor on death row who claims to have discovered a permanent cure for any virus-based disease, the film follows his journey as he wanders in late nights searching for people on whom he can carry out experiences. The film tackles us in different situations where on one side we question the mental stability of the doctor and on the other side, we trust his research. A tension is created through all these story arcs but we get our answers in the end, which was quite unexpected.

The short saga stars Kay Kay Menon and Nivedita Bhattacharya in the featured roles. With not many characters in this short thriller, it keeps you guessing till the end. It has been shot in real locations and keeps you well connected throughout the film.
