American actor Brian Tarantina, who starred in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, died due to drug overdose including fentanyl and heroin. 

As per a report by the news agency IANS, a spokesperson for the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to People.com that the actor died due to acute intoxication by the combination of effects of fentanyl, heroin, diazepam and cocaine. The manner of death has been ruled as accidental.

Tarantina died on 2 November. He was found in his Manhattan apartment the same day after the NY Police Department received a call about an unconscious person. The officials found Tarantina lying on his couch and the emergency medical services quickly responded. His representative said the actor “had been ill lately, was recently in the hospital and was in the process of recuperating from what I believe to be a heart-related issue.”

Tarantina has portrayed Gaslight comedy club emcee Jackie in the Emmy Award-winning Amazon Prime series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He has also appeared in TV shows including Gilmore Girls, The Black Donnellys, Heroes, Law & Order and The Good Wife.

His long film credit includes Jacob’s Ladder, Donnie Brasco, Uncle Buck and Summer of Sam. Tarantina’s last film role was in the 2019 crime film The Kitchen.
