Disney surprised fans in the mid-oscar ceremony with a brand new poster and new footage from the upcoming live-action film ‘The Lion King‘.
During the 91st Academy Award, Disney premiered a new Lion King TV spot, the trailer gives another look into the photorealistic view of Africa, focusing on mandril Rafiki and a young Simba, stepping in his father’s paws. Animals of the jungle can be seen bowing their heads towards the Pride Rock, paying their respect to the royal family. Whereas, the new poster of the film features King Mufasa and cub Simba standing behind the film’s iconic sunset.

The film is helmed by 2016 film ‘The Jungle Book’ director Jon Favreau, the all-star cast of the film includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa , Billy Eichner as Timon, John Kani as Rafiki, John Oliver as Zazu, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari, Eric Andre as Azizi, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, and James Earl Jones as Mufasa.
‘The Lion King’ remake is scheduled to hit the theatres on July 19, 2019.
