The short film titled Taandav explores how a human being reaches a breaking point of his life where he can’t suffer anymore and his reaction is quite unexpected or not worth understanding to the others. It is the story of an honest police constable played by Bajpayee who never wants to take a share out of the black money which unfortunately makes his colleagues hate him, he doesn’t want to pay extra donation as a bribe for his daughter’s admission in a private school which makes his wife upset.
Head constable Tamble then reaches a point where he is stuck within thoughts and the complexion of life, he feels stranded and trapped. This 11-minute short film in a darkly comic way portrays a beautiful message which needs to be decoded. The dark comedy has rarely been as interesting as it has been in Taandav. The short film explores a variety of themes, most notably the struggles and hardships of a common man. But these struggles go way beyond the struggle for survival that most films depict. In a short duration, the film talks about corruption, morality, and the art of letting go.
