If things go as planned, it will be the second film from his banner which is based on an actor-director relationship. The 2006 Mohit Suri directed film Woh Lamhe, was supposedly based on late actress Parveen Babi’s life as she struggled with schizophrenia. Starring Kangana Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja, the film also explores Babi’s relationship with Bhatt.
Bhatt had last directed three films in 1999, namely Zakhm, Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan and Kartoos. He is returning into direction after twenty years with Sadak 2, which is a sequel of his 1991 film Sadak. It stars Sanjay Dutt (reprising his role from the previous film), Aditya Roy Kapur, Bhatt’s daughters Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt.
