Another big film is set to release on an OTT platform. This time, Netflix has emerged as the winner. Dharma Productions, upcoming film ‘Gunjan Saxena : The Kargil Girl’ is set to release on the platform.
Netflix India shared this news via a tweet today. The film is a biopic on Indian air force pilot, Gunjan Saxena. She along with Srividya Rajan, became the first female fighter pilots to go into war. The government awarded her with the Shaurya Vir award for her heroic efforts in the 1999, Kargil war.
The film will star Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, while Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi will play her father and brother respectively.
Scheduled to release on 24, April 2020 the film got delayed because of the Coronavirus. In order to avoid further delays the makers decides to release the film on Netflix. Dharma Productions and Zee Studios have jointly produced the film.
Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in the Netflix anthology horror film ‘Ghost Stories’. This will be the third film of her career, she made her debut with Dharma Productions ‘Dhadak’ in 2018.
