Just a day old married couple Priyanka and Nick, seems to have been landed in trouble for having elephants and horses in their wedding. Animals rights organisations PETA has raised a concern regarding the same.
Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra got married to American singer Nick Jonas on Sunday in Umaid Bhavan Palace, Jodhpur. The couple got married twice, according to their respective tradition, in the presence of close friends and family.
Nick is said to have arrived on a horse for his Indian wedding. Criticizing their act of using animals in wedding, their fans took to twitter and slammed them. PETA India tweeted, “Congrats, but we regret it was not a happy day for animals.”

CEO of PETA India Manilal Valliyate said, “Priyanka has been ill served by not being advised of the firestorm that would be caused by participating in animal abuse. It doesn’t make a person look big or glamorous to promote cruelty to animals who has no choice but to serve. It makes them look small. Overwhelmingly, these days PETA is delighted to see so many celebrities feel passionately about protecting animals,”
Earlier, when news of fireworks in NickYanka’s wedding, came out netizens slammed her for that also and called her double standard. Priyanka, just before Diwali, posted a video and urged people to follow ‘Less pollution, more laddoos’ policy. She said that she is an asthmatic.
However, amidst lot of criticizing and slamming the two got married in a three-day extravagant wedding and scheduling two receptions in Delhi and Mumbai soon.
