Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal is currently gearing up for their upcoming Indian period espionage thriller movie title ‘Raazi‘, which is directed by Meghna Gulzar and co-produced by Karan Johar. The movie is said to be an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel “Calling Sehmat, which is about a Kashmiri girl married to a Pakistani army officer during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The movie is set during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and it is said to be produced by the Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures.

The movie will be shot in Punjab, Kashmir, and Mumbai. Director of the movie Meghna is very well known for the films like ‘Filhaal’ and ‘Talvar.’ Meghna is the daughter of celebrated writer Gulzar and veteran actress Raakhee.

The team has started shooting in Kashmir and the team’s producer Priti Shahani says that they are not expecting to face any trouble while shooting their Kashmir schedule. The first schedule of the movie was wrapped up earlier this month, which was directed by Meghna Gulzar.

About the director Meghna Gulzar, Priti Shahani says, “Meghna is an amazing filmmaker and she is making an amazing story.” Moreover, she said that the team will be wrapping the film’s shooting by early October. When asked if they are expecting any issues in shooting in Kashmir, Priti Shahani said, “I don’t expect any trouble… The team has been over there and they have had a detailed location recce.”

While, on the other hand, Alia Bhatt can also be seen in “Gully Boy’ co-starring Ranveer Singh and “Dragon” opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Raazi is the third film Alia has signed, and understanding her choice of going de-glam to back her performance oriented roles, this one won’t be any different.

The film is scheduled for release in May 2018.
