We don’t often realize the value of having our own opinion, better be it wrong but having an opinion matters the most rather than being null. Having an opinion adds up to the demographic of different perspectives. When it comes to youths, they are bound to have difference of opinion. And exploring a topic like this through films can turn out to be a great step but rarely there are very few films that take up this theme, and the 2007 film Dil Dosti Etc makes it up to the list.

It is an overview on how youths today think and choose to live their lives. Story set around two Apurv (Imaad Shah) and Sanjay (Shreyas Talpade) both belonging to the opposite sides form a bond. Sanjay is an ambitious and political individual who represents the typical yet idealistic part of the society, on the other hand Apurv is quite new to everything, he’s trying to learn all, however his life is yet directionless and he is on the way of finding the meaning behind his life, we see the story through his perspective.

Analyzing the story and mainly talking about the three pillars of this film, i.e the three characters, Apurv, Sanjay and Vaishali. Coming to the third character, on the other lane we have Vaishali’s character who’s a sex worker, she is also among the best characters of the film.

She is bold and claims never to get attached to her customers. She believes in No Relationship Policy, she represents her side of the society which is full of a slave like life, we know she has a lot of things to say but her conditions let her stay silent, yet the important thing is she has her own opinion but is not able to voice it out.
