Hollywood action comedy film The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard has got a theatrical release date which is 28 August, 2020. It was announced by Lionsgate and Millennium Records, the studios behind it, according to The Hollywood Reporter

The film is a sequel to the 2017 film The Hitman’s Bodyguard which was a major box-office success, grossing $176 millions. But met with mixed critical feedback. It starred Samuel L. Jackson, Ryan Reynolds and Salma Hayek, who will be reprising their roles in the sequel. It will also feature Antonio Banderas, Morgan Freeman, Frank Grillo and Richard E. Grant.

It’s director Patrick Hughes and writer Tom O’Connor will also be returning for their respective jobs. 

The sequel will follow hitman Kincaid (Jackson) and his wife Sonia (Hayek) going on a mission with their bodyguard Bryce (Reynolds) to save Europe from a vengeful villain (Banderas).

Jackson was last seen playing Nick Fury in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home and will be next seen in the war film The Last Full Measure.

Reynolds last release was Netflix’s action flick 6 Underground, directed by Michael Bay. He will be next acting and producing the science fiction comedy film Free Guy
