We recently told you that Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla starrer then untitled film got its name. Now we have learnt that the film titled as Sharmaji Namkeen has gone on the floors. Chawla took to her social media account to make the announcement of the film going into production. She shared a picture of herself with her co-actor Kapoor and wrote, “Wishing ‘SHARMAJI NAMKEEN ‘ all the very very best, as shooting starts to roll !! May it be one of the most charming films of 2020.”

The film brings the two actors together after more than a decade. They have acted together in a number of films in the ‘90s such as Bol Radha Bol, Saajan Ka Ghar, Ghar Ki Izzat and others. Their last film together was Abbas-Mustan directorial Daraar that came out in 1996.
The film also marks Kapoor’s return to shooting after his diagnosis with cancer last year. He spent over 11 months in New York for his treatment and returned to India on 10 September this year. His first release post his treatment would be celebrated Malayalam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph directorial The Body co-starring Emraan Hashmi and releasing on 13 December.
