Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar, who was seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh last month, is all set to feature in the upcoming film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan that stars Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, she will make a special appearance and had shot for her part over a two-day schedule in Varanasi in November. The report cited a source close to the development revealing that Pednekar’s part had been in the script right from the beginning.
The report quoted film’s producer Anand L. Rai as saying, “Bhumi is a part of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan family and we could not imagine making Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan without her. She has a special appearance in the narrative and we are extremely happy to have her on board.”
“Bhumi’s association adds value to the storyline. She is an amazing actor and I am glad she is a part of our film,” Bhushan Kumar added.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is a spin-off of 2017 film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. While the first film was about a newly engaged couple dealing with erectile dysfunction, the upcoming film is about a same-sex couple and their families coming to terms with their relationship.
Besides Khurrana, the film also features Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao while Jitendra Kumar will appear as Khurrana’s love interest. The film marks the reunion of Khurrana, Gupta and Rao who played a family in the National Award winning 2018 film Badhaai Ho.
Directed and written by Hitesh Kewalaya, the film is produced by Aanand L. Rai and Bhushan Kumar under their respective banners Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series. It is scheduled to be released on 21 February 2020.
