Apple has been receiving a lot of criticism from Microsoft and Facebook recently because of Apple’s strict policies on gaming apps. Microsoft recently launched a game streaming app called Project xCloud but could only launch it on Android devices as there were issues regarding its launch on IOS devices. Apple has always had very strict policies when it came to its App Store, even Valve’s Steam Link app took almost a year to get approved by Apple.

Facebook too came forward and talked about how absurd it is for Apple to have such policies. Facebook finally managed to launch an IOS version of its gaming app on Friday, but made a statement saying it was forced to make a concession to bring it to the App Store: It had to remove the ability to play games instantly. The Facebook Gaming app, launched in Google Play Store in April, allows people to create and stream live gaming content and is seen as a competitor to Amazon’s Twitch livestreaming platform.

Overall, the problem may be the fact that Apple has many apps in the App Store that distribute games, including the main Facebook app. Apple also has its own gaming app called Apple Arcade+ which works with subscription settings and competes against the likes of Microsoft, Nvidia and Google.
