Google Duo, which is a video calling app developed by Google is supported on Android phones, computers, smart displays, iPhones and tablets. Now, it will also be supported on Android TV. After four years since the release of Google Duo, it is now available on Android TV.

Google has recently stated that it will be soon available in a beta version for Android TV. Still the play store lisiting of Android TV has not mentioned that the app is still the beta version. Users would be able to make video calls if their TV has a built-in camera and if not, they would still be able to make voice calls. Users can also purchase a webcam as Android TV platform starting from Android 9 now supports webcams.

The most important part about this new feature is that after the installation of the app, it would not show up on the app drawer or have a banner at the home screen. Users need to launch it by going to Settings>Apps>Duo.

While making a voice call, the microphone of the remote would pick up the voice and the voice of the person to whom the user will make a call would be heard from the TV’s own speaker or other speakers connected with the TV. Since Android TV now supports video calling, the particular feature has high chances of becoming more popular among people.
