Aam Aadmi Party, the ruling party in Delhi has refused to accept the resignation of Amanatullah Khan, Waqf board chief and MLA from Okhla constituency. He had resigned from all the posts he held, citing that his family was dragged into unnecessary controversies because of his political position.

However, commenting on the development, Manish Sisodia, deputy chief minister of Delhi said that the party has checked the facts behind this allegation and added that his brother in law’s ex wife, who separated 4 years back had no contact with the Delhi MLA. Sisodia further added that the issue is being investigated and culprit will not be spared, however, he also added that in case of a planned harassment against their men, the party will whole heartedly be in support. Sisodia stated that he had spoken to the Delhi Chief Minister and decided not to accept the resignation of Amanatullah Khan.
