The Maharastra ally of Congress, Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar on Thursday pushed Congress to go with AAP in National Capital for Lok Sabha Polls 2019. NCP, as reported, believed that in case, Congress and AAP would not forge an alliance it would lead to a division of votes that would ensure the victory of BJP in the national Capital, that has 7 Parliamentary Seats.

AAP Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in his public rallies has constantly pressed the ‘Division of Votes’ and said there is a need for a ‘joint Candidate’ on all 7 Lok Sabha Seats to defeat ‘Modi-Shah Duo’.

NCP move to press Congress for Alliance came hours after Congress President Rahul Gandhi on the sideline of the event said that Alliance talks in all parts of the Country are very much ‘on track’. He also added that it is Only the Delhi Unit that totally did not endorse the idea to go with AAP and has ‘unanimously’ rejected the idea to go with an alliance in the national capital.

Earlier on Tuesday night, Aam Aadmi Party National Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at Congress for not forging an alliance with his party (AAP). He hit back at Congress and alleged that there are rumours that BJP and Congress have joined hands and have ‘secret understanding’ in Delhi.

Kejriwal reaction came hours after Shiela Dixit ending months-long speculations said her party is not going with the AAP.

NCP Spokesperson DP Tripathi while replying to scribe queries said that ‘I request Congress to go with AAP in Delhi’. He further said while talking about his party’s poll tie-up in other states.

‘In Maharashtra, Our Party (NCP) has already finalized alliance talks with Rahul Gandhi led Congress party’ he said while adding the party president Sharad Pawar likely to contest from Madha Lok Sabha Constituency.

Sharad Pawar had represented the Solapur district constituency from 2009 to 2014, following which he chose to go into the Rajya Sabha.

Talking about Bihar he said that his party has already conveyed the message about ‘Katihar’ seat to Congress and RJD. The Katihar Lok Sabha seat was represented by Tariq Anwar who later quit NCP to join Congress.

It is noteworthy that both Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi was a part of Opposition meeting called at Sharad Pawar’s Residence.
