Both the BJP and Congress in Rajasthan are asking recommendations on the choice of candidates from its party workers. The BJP has started a 3-day feedback meeting where the party workers from 31 Assembly constituencies are to drop their recommendations for the most winnable candidates from their constituencies in a sealed envelope.

In her address to the party workers on Sunday, Raje had said, “BJP will co come to power with a clear mandate and will form the government again in the state.” She said the workers have the right to claim tickets from the party, but their targets should be to ensure that the “lotus” wins. “Remember that ABC not a candidate, lotus (party symbol) is”.
Discussions were held with the party workers by senior leaders in BJP including chief minister Vasundhara Raje, and state party in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna, Rajavendra Rathore among others.

Meanwhile, Congress is also focusing on the “winnability” of the candidates. Pradesh election committee Chief Kumari Sailja had maintained that the party’s main criterion to allocate ticket is the probability of their win. The committee had also sought recommendations from the party workers on probable candidates. Congress is also expanding its election-related campaigns in the district by launching a massive outreach campaign across the 51,000 polling booths in the state on October 21 with the slogan ‘Booth Jitao, Bhrastachar Mitao’ (win booth, remove corruption), informed state party president Sachin Pilot. The state Congress will also constitute sub-committees, to gather suggestions from stakeholders at the district level.  Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had said that no parachute candidates will be given the ticket.
