A meeting between Aam Aadmi Party‘s Seelampur, Haji Ishraq Khan, and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari at the latter’s residence on Thursday sparked a political buzz in the power of corridors that AAP Lawmaker may switch side months before the Delhi Assembly polls.
However, the Aam Aadmi Party Legislator Haji Ishraq Khan issued a clarification saying that rumors are false. Seelampur MLA said that his visit to Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari was related to the construction of a girls’ college in his constituency”.
Seelampur Assembly segment comes under Tiwari’s North East Delhi parliamentary constituency.
Khan further said the plot where the college is supposed to be constructed is owned by the Uttar Pradesh irrigation department.

Clarifying rumors, Khan told media that “Almost three years ago, I have asked for a plot of land for building the college’. He claimed that Manoj Tiwari had promised to help on this and as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has its government in UP, I went to remind him about his promise,” said Khan.
He further added that the BJP MP has assured him all support.
Earlier to this, the two rebel AAP Lawmakers – Anil Bajpai from Gandhi Nagar and Devinder Sehrawat from Bijwasan – had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on May 3 and May 6 respectively in a run-up to the national polls 2019.
While the BJP Senior leader Vijay Goel had on May 3 claimed that at least 14 Lawmakers from AAP want to turncoat in the national capital ahead of polls due for May 12.
AAP had on May 1 alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party in the national capital is indulging in ‘Horse-trading’ and claimed that its 7 Lawmakers of the national capital has been offered Rs 10 crore each to join BJP ahead of the national polls in capital.
