Union Minister, M Venkaiah Naidu said that GST is a very simple tax regime and it’s being understood and appreciated by the people. There was no haste in rolling out GST. He even reminded people that when UPA was in power, Congress leaders batted for new tax law. HE showed his support to PM Modi and he said that PM is engaged in a war against corruption, black money, and tax evasion. This is done to strengthen the honest tax payers of the country and to benefit the poor people.
HE further said that GST is dynamic and amendments can be made. On demands from certain quarters to lower the rates, he said that nothing is final in this new tax regime. The things were not insurmountable and could be discussed and disposed of by the GST Council. He also said that all the doubts on GST were also being addressed.
Even Donald Trump acknowledged it and told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he is taking the country on the right path with regard to the economy.
