Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin on Thursday was appointed as the new secretary of the party’s youth wing. Actor and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin was seen very active in the electoral work during the national polls and by-polls in the state.
This will be his first post in the DMK Political Outfit. However, he is also the managing director of party organ “Murasoli” – a Tamil Newspaper and the mouthpiece of the MK Stalin’s DMK.
The party made the announced in a press statement released in the name of party general secretary K Anbazhagan. It stated that the Udhayanidhi Stalin will replace incumbent MP Saminathan as the secretary of the party’s youth wing. The Secretary of the party’s Unit Wing is a key post in the DMK and Party President MK Stalin, in the past, held the same post for decades.
His appointments for the post came on the backdrop of party district units’ supporting and endorsing his name for a key position in Party’s Unit Wing after the outcome of the national polls.
Udhayanidhi began his career in the film industry as a producer and later started acting, He currently producing and starring in his own films.
In the National polls that concluded on May 23, DMK who led the Secular Progressive Alliance of which Congress, communist parties, Vaiko’s MDMK and Dalit outfit VCK were a part, had won 38 of the 39 Parliamentary seats that went to polls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
