In the first Parliamentary party meeting organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party after the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha on July 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was “thankful” to Congress for allowing him to reveal the opposition’s “hollowness”.

Ananth Kumar, Parliamentary Affairs Minister addressed the media and told them the highlights of the speeches made by the party leaders. The PM said that by bringing the no-trust vote the opposition had accentuated its “political immaturity and lack of understanding and substance”, told Kumar to the reporters. Modi said, “Those who brought the no-confidence motion did so without any preparation or substance.”

The meet was attended by party’s high profile leaders like the PM, BJP chief Amit Shah, Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Sushma Swaraj, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, veteran LK Advani among the others.

The prime minister praised Union Minister Rajnath Singh’s speech in the no-confidence debate and asked the party stalwarts to spread it through the masses, told Kumar to the media. The PM also told his party workers that leaders in Uganda, where he visited recently, told him that they appreciated the conduct of the no-confidence debate and the prime minister’s reply to the opposition.

Amit Shah slammed the opposition for bringing no-confidence when there was no need; the motion is brought when there is unrest in the nation or when the central government loses the majority.

BJP had a major win in the no-confidence motion where the party got the support of 326 members, only 126 voted against BJP led NDA government.
