Piyush Goyal meets business associates in Mumbai after Milind Deora’s business interactions

Piyush Goyal met some important heads of business associations at MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha’s house where Yuva Sena Chief, Aditya Thackeray was also present. These businessmen are BJP’s core voter base.

Mumbai Congress chief Milind Deora has a lot of business supporters in Mumbai. At the very beginning of his election campaign, Deora had meetings with jewelers association, merchants and diamond traders. Previously, Mukesh Ambani and Uday Kotak also indicated support to the Congress chief Milind Deora that raised the eyebrows of BJP as they face tough competition in South Mumbai for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

BJP leader Piyush Goyal took a meeting of Hindustan Chamber of Commerce on Monday and then had “Chai pe charcha” with business associations operating in the town to make his comeback in the business crowd. Members of 11 associations in Mumbai were present at the interaction which took place at Madhav Baugh near CP Tank in which Piyush noted down the demands and suggestions of the businessmen.

The businessmen raised their concerns on various policies of the government enacted that leads to a heavy loss, like BIS on metal exports, tax collected at source in metal, anti-dumping duty in the steel industry,  train facilities till industrial units, social security like pension for businessmen.

While taking a dig at Mukesh Ambani for supporting Mumbai Congress chief Milind Deora, Goyal said, “The government has not increased tax on anything in past five years. Taxes levied on the rich have increased and hence some big people are making a video.”

In his speech, Piyush Goyal highlighted the contribution by the BJP government in business and working for the poor.
