Australia swept the New Zealand team in the test series, as they won both matches.

Australia was on the tour of New Zealand, which consisted of three T-20Is and two test matches.

The Australian team won the T-20I series 3-0 and, after that, also won the first test match.

Match Details

The second test match was played in Christchurch from March 8th–11th.

Australia won the toss and was elected to the field first.

New Zealand First Innings

Tom Latham and Will Young opened the innings for New Zealand.

They both started great and started to form an important partnership as Mitchell Starc took the wicket of Will.

Josh Hazelwood didn’t stay behind, as he soon started to take wickets.

The Australian bowlers didn’t let them settle as they started to take wickets.

They took all the wickets for New Zealand at a score of 162 runs.

Josh Hazelwood took a haul of five wickets, while Mitchell Starc took three wickets.

Australia’s First Innings

Steven Smith and Usman Khawaja opened the innings for Australia.

Ben Sears didn’t let them settle down, as he took the wicket of Smith.

Then the Matt Henry show started as he started to take wickets one by one.

Marnus Labuschagne was the only batsman who was able to stand strong and make runs.

With his knock of 90 runs, Australia made a total of 256 runs.

Matt Henry took a haul of seven wickets.

New Zealand Second Innings

Tom Latham and Will Young opened the innings, as Will soon lost his wicket.

Tom and Kane started to form a good partnership as they both completed their half-centuries.

The top order of New Zealand performed well, as apart from Will, everyone completed their half-centuries.

And with the ending knock by Scott, they made a total of 372 runs.

Australia’s Second Innings

Australia needed 279 runs to win the second match.

Their top order wasn’t able to perform as they lost their wickets.

Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey stood strong and started to form an important partnership.

They soon completed their half-centuries, and with their partnership, Australia won the second test as well.

Australia won all the matches on their entire tour of New Zealand.
