India finalizes its team for the Asia Cup, and the schedule is also released for the Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup will witness its 16th edition this year, as the Cup will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

A lot of disputes happened as the hosting rights were with Pakistan.

BCCI, the Indian committee, denied going to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.

The discussion over the topic went on for as long as India stayed with its decision not to go to Pakistan.

In the end, they came to the solution of co-hosting, as some matches will take place in Pakistan and some in Sri Lanka.

The Asia Cup will happen in 50 over ODI format, as the World Cup is also in this year.

Schedule

The Asia Cup will begin on August 30th and run until September 17th, 2023.

In total, six teams are going to play in the Asia Cup and will be divided into two groups.

For the first time ever, Nepal has qualified for the Asia Cup.

Of the two groups, which will consist of three teams, two will
qualify for the Super Four from each group.

Then two teams from the Super Four will head to the finals of the Asia Cup.

India, Pakistan, and Nepal are in one group, and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are in the second.

The inaugural match will be played between Pakistan and Nepal.

and the upcoming matches will be:
Sri Lanka vs. Bangladesh
India vs. Pakistan
Afghanistan vs. Bangladesh
India vs. Nepal
Afghanistan vs. Sri Lanka

After this, the top four teams will head to the Super Four stage.

India Squad

After a long time, Jasprit Bumrah is making a comeback in the squad after being injured for a long time.

Rohit Sharma will be the captain of the India squad, and Hardik Pandya will be the vice captain.

Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Surya Kumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya (vc), Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna

As per the reports, KL Rahul won’t be available for the first two matches in the Asia Cup.
