The Indian team kept the hopes alive by winning the third T-20I against the West Indies.

Before winning the third T-20I, India lost two back-to-back matches.

It is a five-match series, and if India had lost the third one as well, then they would have lost the series.

Now, India hopes to win the series, and if they win the remaining two matches as well, they can win this series as well.

India won the Test match series by 1-0 and the ODI match series as well.

Match Details

The third match was going to be played at Providence on August 8th.

The West Indies, winning the toss, elected to bat first.

West Indies Innings

Brandon King and Kyle Mayers opened the innings for the West Indies.

They both gave a good start to their teams as they were playing good knocks.

Both of them were hitting boundaries and formed a partnership of 55 runs.

Axar Patel gave the first breakthrough to the West Indies team in the form of Kyle.

After the first breakthrough, Kuldeep Yadav soon took the wicket of Johnson Charles.

The West Indies team got quick breakthroughs as there were not many runs on the board.

Rovman Powell, in the end, played an outstanding knock of 40 runs and took the total for the West Indies to 159/5.

Kuldeep Yadav took three major wickets, limiting the West Indies to a big total.

India Innings

India needed 160 runs to win the match and stay in the series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the debutant, opened the innings alongside Shubman Gill.

Both of them failed to perform, as in the first over only Yashasvi lost his wicket.

After Yashasvi, it wasn’t long before Shubman also lost his wicket.

Surya Kumar Yadav and Tilak Varma handled the situation.

Surya Kumar was hitting marvelous shots all over the ground.

The man was in form, as he was seen as unstoppable as he completed his half-century.

His outstanding knock of 83 runs took India close to victory.

On the other hand, Tilak also performed outstandingly, as his 49
runs also played a major role.

In the end, Hardik Pandya hit the ball to six and India won the match.

Surya Kumar Yadav was elected Player of the Match for his knock of 83 runs.
