Indian football team continued their winning streak as they defeated Kyrgyzstan by 1-0 in their AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 Qualifier on Tuesday. The match was held at Sree Kanteerava. Captain Sunil Chhetri brought dignity to India by scoring the only goal against the opponents and hence winning the match.
Skipper scored the goal in 69th minute after missing a goal in the 56th minute. Expressing his happiness after winning the game, he said, “It’s a great feeling to score. I have played for the country for 12 years but this was by far our best performance. The team showed character. This is so important for us.”
Coach Constantine, on this victory said, “I will take three points any day. I’m so proud of the boys, it was a good team performance. India deserves this.”
He had already claimed that Indian team is now at a strong position and can beat anyone in the race of stamina. Also, early departure of Kyrgyzstan Zemliankhun Anton also became a bad sign for them in the game. Kyrgyzstan’s coach Alexander Krestinin said that this substitution affected them but also it was difficult to control India’s attack.
