Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Banglore played against each other in match number 49th of IPL 2022 on 4th May.

The last time they played against each other was in match number 22nd in which Chennai beat Banglore by 23 runs.

After consecutively losing their last three games Royal Challengers Banglore will be looking for a win, while after that high run-scoring match Chennai is looking strong and will be searching for another win.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first to make the Banglore come out and set up a score. The openers Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis started great with some great knocks making it a great start for their team in the powerplay by their power-hitting and making a partnership of 62 runs. Meanwhile, they both were looking good together came to bowl Moeen Ali, took the wicket of Faf, and soon enough in his next over bowled Virat and pushed back the Banglore team.

As Banglore was pushed back by the frequent wickets, Mahipal Lomror took the charge and scored some essential runs for his team to put up a fighting total. While the batsmen were struggling to score runs Maheesh Theekshana was making it even more difficult for them, he took three of the crucial wickets of the Banglore team restricting them to a total of 173 runs for the fall of 8 wickets.

Now, it was time for the Second Innings, Chennai to score down the run scored by the Royals. The start by the batsmen was great, the fours and sixes made it look like they will snatch the game from their opponent. Their partnership of 54 runs in the powerplay made them stronger.  The outstanding fifty by Dewon Convay brought them a bit closer to victory.

While just after the powerplay was over, there was a frequent fall of wickets which started to take the game away from the Super Kings.

Super Kings tried hard but their five wickets went down in the last six overs which took the game away from them. Harshal Patel taking three major wickets made the game for his team.

In the end, Royal Challengers Banglore beat Chennai Super Kings by 13 runs, Harshal Patel of Banglore was chosen as the Man Of The Match for his spell of 3/35(4).
