Royal Challengers Banglore and Lucknow Super Giants played against each other in match number 31 of IPL 2022 in Navi Mumbai on 18th April. After winning their respective last matches the two of them will be searching for another consecutive win.

The Super Giants won the toss and elected to bowl first. So it was time for the Royals to put up a big total in front of them. As they came out to bat, the early fall of wickets felt like they won’t be able to put on a big total as also one of their main batsmen Virat Kohli was sent back to the pavilion on a golden duck. After 2018 we have seen King Kohli getting out on a Golden Duck(0) as we can see that his form isn’t going well for long. After the fall of wickets, there seemed to be a partnership forming up between Faf Du Plessis And Glenn Maxwell yet soon Maxwell got out.

While the wickets kept on falling Faf took the pressure upon himself and delivered an amazing knock of 96 runs to make a fighting total to defend against the Giants. The bowlers of the Super Giants did a great job Dushmantha Chameera and Jason Holder taking the two crucial wickets of the Challengers and making it difficult for them to score a big total. However, with the outstanding knock by Faf, their team managed to put up a good fighting total of 181 for the fall of 6 wickets against their opponent.

So now it was time for the opponent to come to bat and chase the score. In the beginning, it felt like it would be an easy run chase for the Giants. Thereupon entered Josh Hazelwood taking two of the main wickets to slow down the winning options for the opponents. While it felt like KL Rahul And Krunal Pandya are building up a partnership Harshal Patel came into action and took the wicket of KL Rahul.

While Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stonis tried their best to help their team win the game in the opposite Josh made it difficult for them by his one of the best bowling figures and 4 wickets to make his team win.

Team efforts are all that matters in the end, that is what the Royals proved while their batting order was falling and things weren’t going for them as planned. They stood together and took the game away from the Super Giants and won by 18 runs.

As the match ended Faf Du Plessis, of Royal Challengers Banglore won the Man Of The Match award.
