UrbanClap, a Gurugram-based home services platform has started its services in the UAE market. The company has launched its on-demand home services in Abu Dhabi, cited yourstory.
The home services startup has plans to initiate operations in Abu Dhabi with over 20 services partners by offering five types of services, which includes deep cleaning, domestic help, pest control, handymen, and AC servicing and repair. Soon, the firm will offer home painting and packers and movers services as well.
“With the capital city being a consumer-heavy market and willing to look out for quality home services, the decision is the right move towards further expansion in UAE. Additionally, Abu Dhabi has a large pool of service professionals available who are not yet online. This is a huge opportunity for UrbanClap to explore the market, tap into this latent talent, and enable them to be independent micro-entrepreneurs in the coming five years – hence reimagining how we have consumed services so far,” Abhiraj Bhal, co-founder of UrbanClap, said.
UrbanClap was founded by Abhiraj Bhal, Raghav Chandra, and Varun Khaitan in 2014. The hyperlocal home service startup provides a wide range of services like plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cleaners, and pest control, among many others.
The startup has expanded its presence across eight Indian cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune. It has also gone international.
UrbanClap, with Abu Dhabi in view, aims to grow its UAE business 2x month on month. The company also has plans to expand to other gulf countries in the coming month.
Last year, UrbanClap launched its services in Dubai and since then the startup is on an expanding spree to the UAE market.
The home services startup also counts Ratan Tata, Snapdeal Co-Founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, SAIF Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Accel Partners, among its investors.
