Moto E and G categories, sometimes cut loose with the weird and wonderful premium mid-range and this year there is a lot to come with MWC 2018 and (in all possibilities) the Moto G6 is just around the corner. A compact phone is a rarity at the time of the huge bezel-less screen. Even rare is a powerful mid-range compact phone, which is an electric user’s wet dream. Thankfully, Moto tried to fill that Moto X4 last year. The phone came with premium glass-and-metal design, a powerful mid-range Snapdragon chipset, and 4GB RAM. But the 4 GB RAM phone could not be considered seriously as the power user’s phone, so Moto went ahead and launched another version with 6 GB of memory.

Moto X4 Design:

The Moto X4 is a beautiful, well-rounded phone. There is a certain density for it which it feels like a premium product. Seeing it in the box first, it looks quite small. At 148.4 x 73.4 mm, it is similar in size to the original Moto G5 – although, on 8 mm, the X4 is thin. Pick up the phone, though, and you’ll be in for a surprise. At 163G, it is about 20g heavier than Moto G5, and the same price is Moto Z2 Play.

That density comes down to building the phone. With its metal frame, the back part of the Moto X4 is made of glass, which is very less in 2017. Although it increases the weight on the phone – and you will always be able to reach that microfiber cloth for your micro printers – the effect is indisputably attractive.

All physical buttons on X4 are located on their right edge. Volume keys are small and sit in a short space like the iPhone, while the power button is slightly taller and heavier. Made of plastic though they are good and clicky.

Moto X4 performance:

I did not see any sturring during normal navigation, and even advanced 3D games such as Gear. Club and Unkilled ran away without tampering. Of course, such apps do not run quite smoothly, and they take longer time compared to the Snapdragon 835 packing device – but it is expected. Perhaps, adaptation to the UI Moto requires more storage to work. The new Moto X4 comes with a new motto action called ‘Attentive Displays’ which keeps the screen for a long time and closes it and closes it in the end, if you are looking at, save more battery Do it. Uses front camera to call.

Moto X4 Camera:

Motorola refers to the camera settings of the Moto X4 in all its holes, and it certainly gives some attention-grabbing properties. In practice, however, I considered this as a mixed bag. The main 12 megapixels F / 2.0 lens is connected with 8-megapixel, 120-degree wide angle sensor. This means that you will be able to catch those huge landscape shots without panorama mode.

Motorola uses two cameras to achieve the heavily labeled Bobby effect in the camera UI, the background of the subject with blurry parts of the result is highly invasive. Bokay effect showed himself some unnatural artifacts that needed to clean the glass of the X4 camera. In the general quality of the shots evenly burned situations, X4 is capable of taking a detailed and well-balanced picture, if some bend towards over-exposure, but proved to be a bit unreliable in less than ideal conditions.

Verdict:

If you want to be the first to try out the new Moto Action and the AI-centric camera features, you are more than welcome But do not note that these features will be a standard across all Moto phones this year and especially the upcoming Moto G6 that is slated to launch at MWC 2018, which will be much cheaper than the 24,999 price tag the Moto X4 (6GB).

The 6 GB Moto X4 with 64 GB storage now sits on the top, followed by the 4 GB Moto X4 with 64 GB storage and 3 GB Moto X4 with 32 GB of storage. So, the phone starts from Rs 20,999 and reaches Rs 24,999. Essentially, you have a version of Moto X4 for each budget in the 20k range to 25k range.
