Google’s latest Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL  offers some of the greatest features like the top of the line specifications, stock Android user experience and a premium camera, which scores a perfect 99 out of 100 in DXO rating. However, for the fact that, the device still has a single camera incorporation and the removal of the 3.5 mm headphone jack has caused a lot of chaos in the fan base.

According to the latest bunch of rumours, the POLED (which is different from the Super AMOLED, which is used in the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lineup) also has a lot of issues. To start with, the viewing angles are not great, the display has a bluish tint and the icons on the display are unsaturated, which is not acceptable in an OLED display.

Recently, a user with a Twitter handle named @alexdobie has complained about his device which has a massive “Burn-In”, which has caused the half of the display to turn into grey colour permanently. According to Alex Dobie, he has used the Google Pixel 2 XL  for 7 days.

Some of these malfunctions might be due to the fact that, the Google hasn’t correctly calibrated the display on the Google Pixel 2 XL, in fact, the standard Pixel 2 uses a 5.0-inch IPS LCD screen and there are no reported issues with respect to the display at all. However, when the similar Questions was forwarded to the Google spokesperson, here are the official statements from the same.

“The Pixel 2 XL screen has been designed with an advanced P-OLED technology, including QHD+ resolution, wide colour gamut, and high contrast ratio for natural and beautiful colors and renderings. We put all of our products through extensive quality testing before launch and in the manufacturing of every unit. We are actively investigating this report,”

So, what do you think about this issue? Let us see if any other users report the same in the near future.
