During a surprise visit to Iraq on Wednesday, the United States President Donald Trump said he was planning to have a visit to Mexico, the nation’s southwestern border, for a “groundbreaking” US-Mexico border wall ceremony next year.

According to news reports, during Trump’s interaction with journalists in Iraq, Trump said he wants to visit the US-Mexico border wall before of the State of the Union Address in the next year.

The US president said he was planning “going to the wall”, US-Mexico border wall, on the southwest border early next year for a “groundbreaking” ceremony in Mexico.

Trump has made these remarks when talking to journalists, just after his landing, during briefing with the US military leaders.

However, Trump also indicated that he will not drop his plan of constructing a border wall at the border line between the two nations – the United States and Mexico. Due to this Trump’s plan, he called for a government partial shutdown which started from Saturday mid-night, after opposition democrats and the senate refused to fund Trump’s proposed plan and did not approved his plan.

According to news reports, when asked about the shutdown’s time period, Trump said, “Whatever it takes. We need a wall. We need safety for our country. Even from this standpoint. We have terrorists coming in through the southern border.”
