The Pope gave a message on Tuesday, appealing for peace into the conflict and war zone areas including Syria and Yemen during his annual Christmas Eve speech.

Both Yemen and Syria have been indulged by civil wars for many years leading their citizen into a humanitarian crises.

Pope Francis said: “My wish for a happy Christmas is a wish for fraternity. Fraternity among individuals of every nation and culture.”

The Pope was giving his yearly “Urbi et Orbi” (to the city and to the world) speech addressed in the Vatican.

According to news reports, while addressing annual Christmas, the Pontiff said: “My thoughts turn to Yemen, in the hope that the truce brokered by the international community may finally bring relief to all those children and people exhausted by war and famine.”

He also asserted he hoped that the international community would now “work decisively for a political solution” in war-torn country Syria, which is now heading towards its eighth year of civil war.

He further stated adding: “So that the Syrian people, especially all those who were forced to leave their own lands and seek refuge elsewhere, can return to live in peace in their own country.”

According to reports, the United Nations (UN) have said more than 6 million of civilians have been affected and displaced since the war has begun there.

The Pope address also suggested to the worldwide tensions over migration with a saying that God always wanted “love, acceptance, respect” throughout the overall humanity. He said, “Our differences, then, are not a detriment or a danger – they are a source of richness.”

Pope Francis also revealed his hope regarding the renewed talks between the Palestinians and Israelis to “undertake a journey of peace that can put an end to a conflict that for over 70 years has lacerated the land chosen by the Lord to show his face of love”.
