Over 1,600 Needy Students Given Scholarships In Jalandhar

Jalandhar, a city of Water, has been working towards the development of infrastructure, education, health, the lifestyle of people and much more. The city is known for its 86.22 literacy rate and as the hub for NRIs. The Punjab government and different organizations are doing everything to make Jalandhar one of its most beautiful, literate and bliss for its people by uplifting the lives of weaker sections starting with few of many scholarships to the underprivileged students.

On Sunday, 1600 scholarships were distributed to the students of the Deprived section by Vijay Kumar Chopra,  President of Shri Ram Navmi Utsav Committee. They also distributed school bags that contained essentials like Books, Notebooks, Shirts and sports kit.

The committee also organized the medical camps to monitor and check the health of the students.

The State Cabinet Ministers and MPs were there to applaud the efforts of the committee for gelling harmony, peace and brotherhood in the city and further said, the nation which doesn’t work on giving its children the quality education, ceases to progress.
