The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in collaboration with UNICEF is all set to launch an online career counselling and guidance portal for students and learners.

The online portal will provide a detailed information about career options, Higer education institutes, International courses, Scholarships, competitive or entrance exams, and Foreign studies.

Along with this, the portal will also offer educational and work-relates resources free-of-cost for students. The portal can be accessed on the official website at http://cbsecareerguidance.com or via its dedicated mobile app.

The Initiative’s Aim;

CBSE has launched this portal as an initiative which aims to help the young minds, especially girls, to gain adequate knowledge about the opportunities available in higher education.

UNICEF has came forward to support the students, especially of Class 9 to 12, in making correct decisions related to their future and managing their career pathways to a right direction.

Several state governments and private sector companies has also contributed to this initiative by customising the career portal in regional languages as per the students of that particular area.

CBSE’s statement;

CBSE in its official statement mentioned that proper guidance and councelling helps the students to discover their capacities, abilities and interests according to which they can choose an ideal career option.

Career Guidance also enhances the positive attributes of a students and enables them to understand their learning strengths and weaknesses so that they can set and achieve realistic goals in their life.

More about the Portal;

The career portal is linked to CBSE’s main website. Thus, all CBSE students can login to the portal using their details previously registered with the Board and can access a personalised career dashboard.

CBSE has planned to train two teachers per school who will function as the counsellors on the portal. A digital training session will be conducted for this teachers and a personal counsellor dashboard will also be provided.

This portal is being operated under The Career Guidance and Counselling Information Centre (CGCIC) of CBSE which will ensures uninterrupted guidance facilities for students.
